THE BLACK CAP
The Black Cap in London’s Camden Town is more than just a drag bar; it is a powerful symbol of resilience, belonging, and LGBTQ+ visibility. After its sudden closure in 2015 and eventual reopening in 2026, this feature-length documentary gives voice to generations of drag queens as they reflect on the memories, communities and histories it holds, revealing how one iconic building has come to represent decades of struggle, celebration and social change. Filmed over six years as campaigners fought to save the venue, and featuring interviews with the likes of Ian McKellen and Graham Norton - this is the untold story of drag’s fight for rights.
